Narcissistic Tendencies
Does he make me laugh like you did?
No.
But he damn sure doesn’t break me like you did.
I spent years on my knees,
begging mirrors to tell me I was enough.
Turns out I always was.
It was you who wasn’t.
You—
all fragile ego and empty chest.
A boy masquerading as a man.
A parasite in love with the way I made you feel whole,
while you carved holes in me.
You spun lies like lullabies,
fed me poison and called it devotion,
made me question my own reflection.
That’s not love—
that’s manipulation in a costume.
And you know what?
I’m done being your victim.
Done carrying your failures like they were mine.
I was never too little.
You were never enough.
So no,
he doesn’t make me laugh like you did.
But I’d rather lose a laugh
than drown in your narcissism,
than choke on your insecurity.
I don’t need your kind of love.
I don’t need your validation.
I don’t need you.
So no, he doesn’t make me laugh like you did, but at least I’m not crying anymore.
