Why Paths Cross: A Poetry Collection

Why Paths Cross

The love i hold for those in my past,

A vow or a promise that will forever last.

The growth beyond my place in theirs,

A garden tended with all their cares.

The finality of two paths diverted,

A beautiful story without yourself inserted.

Versions

Witnessing and experiencing every version of yourself you become,

Screaming and crying while they succumb.

Trying and failing to keep them alive,

Hoping and praying that somehow they survive.

Aching and knowing your efforts are in vain,

Grieving and accepting that they can't remain.

Mourning and yearning for when all was one,

Remembering and cherishing the memories of what's done.

“Why Paths Cross” is about growing for both yourself and those who have touched your life but are no longer around. “Versions” is about acknowledging how you go through many different versions of yourself throughout your life.
